Postdoc position open for applicants

Postdoc in Human Geography specialised in energy transitions

We are pleased to announce the following postdoc position at Lund University:

Postdoc in Human Geography specialised in energy transitions

The position (100 %) involves research (minimum 80%) and teaching at all levels (max 20%). This position is primarily connected to the research project Co2mmunity: Co-producing and co-financing renewable community energy projects financed by INTERREG-BSR (Baltic Sea Region) – see https://www.wigeo.uni-kiel.de/en/research/research-projects-1/Co2mmunity for a brief description. This project is run in collaboration with partners from across the Baltic Sea Region, including multiple practitioner organisations in relation to community energy. The project is led by Kiel University.

The overall objective of the project is to foster renewable energy deployment in the Baltic Sea Region through improving renewable energy acceptance and development conditions via community energy models. Core to achieving this is the establishment of renewable energy cooperative partnerships (RENCOPs) in the partner regions, which initiate and support community energy projects.

The postdoc to be hired is expected to contribute to the Co2mmunity project in two main aspects: Firstly, to carry out research on the process of initiating and developing RENCOPs under the Co2mmunity project. Secondly, to carry out a scientific review of existing knowledge on community energy drivers and barriers. However, within this scope, the postdoc will have extensive freedom to decide on research issues, develop theoretical ideas and choose research methods. The postdoc is also expected to contribute to other eventual tasks in relation to the project.

Last application day: November 15, 2017
